Heaux Stories

#HeauxStories is a storytelling experience dreamt up and created by Jagger Blaec. There have been two sold-out shows in Portland, Oregon.

“This isn’t just about telling slutty tales (even though that’s a huge part of it). The etymology of the word “heaux” stems form the abbreviation of whore. A whore is defined as a sex worker or prostitute, and over time misogyny assigned a derogatory meaning to these professions and weaponized the word #hoe against women and #femmes to demonize feminine sexuality. “Hoe culture” is a movement that allows us to not only reclaim the word but fight the stigma that exists around promiscuity. The mission of Heaux Stories is rooted in femme empowerment and is intended to embody carefree living, #hotgirlsummmer and safety.”
